Hunter Horton - Director of Golf Operations


Hunter HortonHunter Horton was born and raised in Jefferson County and the 1000 Islands Region. He grew up playing the game of golf at the Thousand Islands Country Club from the age of 10 with his family. His parents, Douglas and Amy Horton were the proud owners of the Thousand Islands Country Club for over 20 years. While helping his family, Hunter became involved with all aspects of the operation of the Club and grew an interest in it as well. He attended Mississippi State University and studied Golf Course Operations. He later transferred to Horry-Georgetown Turf College in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which is affiliate with Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach. Throughout his high school and college years, Hunter interned with various Golf Clubs across the country including the Country Club of Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama, Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Florida and Sanctuary Golf Club in Sanibel Island, Florida. 

Upon graduation in 2003 with a degree in Golf Course Management, Hunter assumed the position of Assistant Superintendent at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, New York. During that same time, he also served as the General Manager and Superintendent of Tecumseh Golf Club in Syracuse. In the Fall of 2003, Hunter left the area and assumed the role of Assistant Superintendent at Dellwood Country Club in New City, New York on the Rockland/Westchester County border outside of New York City. 

In march of 2005, Hunter returned and joined us at Ives Hill Country Club as the Superintendent and Director of Golf Operations. Since his return to the area, Hunter has been involved with the changes and creation of the new and improved Ives Hill Country Club.

 

Geoffrey Puccia – Executive Chef


Geoff PucciaGeoffrey Puccia was born and raised in the Watertown area. He has always had an interest in the food industry, even from an early age while helping his grandparents in their local grocery market. After high school, Geoffrey attended Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, North Carolina. At this point in his life, he was studying Literature and Theology by day and working in the restaurant industry by night. During his stay in North Carolina, Geoffrey performed nearly every position that a restaurant had to offer, furthering his knowledge and interest in the restaurant industry. Geoffrey has recently returned to the area as the Executive Chef of the Ives Hill County Club Restaurant. Because of his passion for the food industry and some time spent in Italy, Geoffrey is able to share his culinary skills he acquired from the South and his love of fine foods to create a cuisine that satisfies everyone.
